Drawing challenge, current situation

It’s been almost a month since I posted an update of my drawing challenge. In the meantime, I have not been idle and have managed to follow my planned schedule, and I’m still going strong.

At this moment I just finished drawing 227, almost a quarter of my goal :-)🏁

The goal of my challenge is to encourage me to draw every day. It’s an exercise in getting better by doing something often. In the past month I have started experimenting with other techniques to put different emphases and to come to (in most cases) better results. I’ll quickly go over them in a nutshell.

Tips and tricks are of course always welcome. If you can pass on inspiration to me, just do it, I’ll see what I can do with it. Thank you!

In the drawings below, I introduced the use of shadow brush pens to get more depth in my drawings. The brushes are the Royal Talens Ecoline:

On the following ones I used the pencil to create a soft shadow. One drawing I completed by just using the pencil:
